Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in Winnipeg and raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand-born actress. Born in Winnipeg but raised in Wellington, she had her first appearance as an actor on screen in The Piano. In this romantic drama film at eleven years of age, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. The role as Flora McGrath - the daughter to an Scottish muffled pianist from New Zealand at mid-19th Century was hers at an audition for the role. In her twenties, she had little or any experience in acting. When she was in her teens, the actress made the move to America. Paquin made her debut when she was a kid, with the role of the Jane Eyre title character in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre, and then an important role of Fly Away Home. Paquin appeared as Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she was the character of the teenage groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
